Our Founders

Tamara and Richard Wraith established Amber's White Light after their daughter, Amber, took her life on April 13, 2022, after struggling with complex mental illness for almost 3 years. Tamara and Richard are driven to improve diagnosis, treatment, support and care for those impacted by mental illness. We aim to do this through targeted research, advocacy and working to support mental health services and clinicians to operate with best available practice.

 

The time taken to accurately diagnose mental illness needs to be reduced from years to months or weeks. Treatment needs to be precise and specific to the individual and their illness with minimal or no side effects. Care and support needs to be compassionate, timely and available. Current mental health services fall far short of these goals.
